"Gangster Squad" guns

There's a movie with the above title coming out this fall with above title
about the Squad versus Mickey Cohen. The main characters on the movie's Squad carry a.45 1911, a Colt 1903 Pocket Auto, a nickel Detective Special, a 4 inch Official Police, and a Single Action Army, along with Thompsons and shotguns. I was wondering if any of the members
knew what the real Squad members carried (or likely would have carried)at that time(1949-50)?

Hi Tecolote,

I have a gun that belonged to Mickey Cohen. Its a .32 ACP Echasa Eibar. Gangster Squad captain Jack O'Mara gained temporary possession of it without Cohen's knowledge and secretly marked it with a set of initials under the butt plates. His hope was that one day the gun would be found at a crime scene and they could link it to Cohen. Its a cool little Spanish gun.
