Generic Batteries for 18V DeWalt Tools ?

I know it’s going backwards, but I wish they made an adapter to plug them into an outlet.

Not an 18 volt but I bought a couple generic batteries for my old 12 volt DeWalt's and they are every bit as good as the name brand at about one fourth the price.

I have the usual assortment of DeWalt 18 volt power tools. Drill, Circular Saw, Reciprocating Saw. Have had them for a number of years and all have original batteries. They charge but will not hold a charge for a long time under load.

In a couple of weeks I will be helping a buddy rework his boat dock and will need to take my tools. The Dewalt branded batteries are really expensive. Amazon has "generic / unbranded" batteries to fit the DeWalt 18 volt tools.

Has anyone used these generic batteries / are they any good or should I stick with the DeWalt branded ones.

Thanks!

I bought the generic batteries a couple of years ago for $37.50 each. They are still going strong. No way I'd pay $80 for a Dewalt 18V battery.

Generac batteries

A couple of years ago I ordered a couple of replacements for my DeWalt screwdriver. When they arrived they were an off-brand, but half the price of the factory replacement. I have used them for about three years and they work great.

My backup is an old hand me down Dewalt.
Both batteries became weak, and are mostly dead.
I bought a generic off eBay just 10 days ago, charged it
and am pleased. Cost about $15 delivered.
No idea how long it will live.
PM me if you want details and seller.

I also purchased 2 18v generic batteries off Amazon in November of 2020 - no problems with them so far, but that is only 6 months.

Next time I need one I'm going to get the 20V and the adapter and give that a try.

Hope this helps.
