Listened today to a review of press coverage and the whys and why nots on the gun control controversy.
Basic points made are that most reporters have no knowledge of guns and yet write on and on about them. It was suggested that they get a background in guns and even shoot some of those they write about. And it wouldn't hurt if they learned some of the correct terminology.
It was also suggested that reporters get to really know a lot of members of the gun community.
Too many reporters today equate anything that goes bang with bad despite 100 million gun owners they never hear about or need to write about, the show reported.
One of the show's media guests agreed that a definite disconnect exists between the East Coast media elite and the rest of America.
This isn't the first time I've heard fair reporting on GPB. Maybe it's because it is "local" and not the bigger National Public Radio outfit.
