I can't post photos from my phone until I get home, but I posted on Facebook and made a search for post for 4" or shorter S&W revolvers on a local gun group. After a couple days a fellow said he had a .357 2 1/2 inch. Turns out its a very nice condition 19-4. He and I negotiated and I got him to $450 with a Bianchi fitted holster. Did I get a good deal? I'll post a photo in a different thread.

Yea, it doesn't Have a box or original magna grips. I want to find some. Is the 19 a round butt? I know my 681 is square, but I have a friend gonna ship me some S&W wood grips for it.

Hell, ya BJOE. I was thinking it was a good idea. I would still like the magna grips. The ones that just go on the outside of the grip tang. Like a model 36.

Thanks Danny. I figured it was as well. Just wanted to make sure. I go and pick it up sometime this week in North Louisiana. It's the nickel model. Which I love.

This is the 19-4 I am gonna get sometime this week.

This is my 19-4 after I cleaned it up a little.

It looks a heck of alot better now after I cleaned it than it did when I did the purchase.

I have some grips coming in from a friend. He is gonna sell me some Smith Magna grips for my 19 and target grips for my 681.

Oh ya. That gun is all me. When I got it, it looks like it used to be a truck gun that used to stay in a holster or on top of a gun cabinet. The nickel had a very slight brown tan tinge from the normal tarnish of nickel and just dirty overall. When I looked at it, I was concentrating on looking for any peeling, pitting, or abuse with the sights or chamber. I couldnt find anything. The cylinder is rock hard at full lock up and there is no hesitation in the cylinder. The barrel is smooth and immaculate. I couldnt be happier.

I'm trying hard not to hate you right now, but that's about HALF of what I've seen them go for, and that's when you can find them.

Nickel needs ivory, but that will run you what you paid for the gun. Mine's a stainless 66-1, but you get the idea.

After, I looked it up and he sent me pictures, I really fell in love with the design. I would love to be a collector, but Ill leave that for the guys that don't like to shoot the guns. I can feel your pain, I would hate me to haha. In all honesty, I have never owned a brand new Smith and Wesson revolver. All of them have been second hand. My next revolver will be a snub M66. I hope I can find one for a decent price. Im not much for one with alot of scratches, but some very minor things would be fine. I just hate that I didnt turn 21 till after all of the good models became hard to find. I think I am in the wrong era. I would love to have grown up in the 70s and 80s. Seems the world was a much better place then. Politics suck.

Oh no, you have the early signs of a well known disease:eek:

No doubt. Looks like 3 M66's and a M19? I love both of mine. Tragic at my age, that most of the Gems have been snatched up, or command such high prices, I cant afford them. My fiance almost has to compete for as much care as I take care of my family of Smiths.
