Gents - I spent the morning resizing every piece of 38 S&W brass I have on hand, which is just north of 200. I want to get them loaded for better weather ahead, as I need to be able to fire my 1924 Colt Police Positive. Back story to this is, my grandfather, who passed when I was around 2 yrs old, was a retired Boston Police Officer. When I was in my teenage years and a budding gun nut, my grandmother gave me an old metal box of ammo which she said was my grandfather's. I saved the box and ammo, of course! I eventually found out that BPD had carried Colt Police Positives in 38 S&W back in the 30s, so it's possible this was either spare carry or practice ammo for a revolver that my grandfather may have carried. In the late 80's at a local gunshow, I stumbled upon a Colt Police Positive in 38 S&W, which I promptly bought. It seemed all original and I fire it every 4-5 yrs with a cylinder or 2, of low power factory ammo. I found a post for dies, some brass and proper size cast bullets and bought that about 10 years ago. So today started the process to make some duplicate low power ammo to celebrate the 100 year Anniversary for the little old Colt! Hope my grandfather is looking down with a smile when I'm at the range! Below is the ammo and box from my Grandmother and the Colt from about 15 years later - A true match! Happy New Year - Cheers!
