Grandad gifted me 2 pistols that are similar in make; one an INA Brazilian Hand Ejector I can't identify, and a S&W 32 Long Hand Ejector in an other thread.

Was told in said another thread that the INA may be a S&W Model 1917 copy but wanted to start a new thread to focus on it directly, if applicable.

I had never heard of INA, but looking at those photos it looks like a well made revolver. The Wikipedia article says the design is based on the S&W Model 10, AKA Military and Police, one of the most, if not the most, successful double action revolver designs in history.

Great gun to have for your collection, and coming from your grandfather, so much the better!

Like that logo, too!

INA was a Brazilian company that went under in 1972. Its successor is Imbel, a government-owned arms maker.

As a small frame, six-shot centerfire revolver (and the left sided logo) this model is the Tiger in .32 S & W Long. A five-shot .38 Special was also made.

I was visiting with a college buddy 45 years ago and his momma carried a "Titan Tiger" .38 in her purse. Looked just like the OP's .32.

I just looked at the photos again, and sure enough, there is a Tiger logo rollmarked on the left side the near the top of the grip and between the trigger opening and cylinder window.

Definitely a Tiger model.

After a good clean, just a wipe down and oil, she's running nicely. Cylinder rolling better, less grit on the pull, and the release moves freely.

A beauty like it's sister S&W 1903 I got with it.

Revolvers just need a good cleaning and proper lubrication.

What I have found over the years when new revolver shooters of old/used revolvers complain about a 20# or 30# trigger pull is because it is all gummed up because it has not been maintained for 20+ years.
