Was at the range today when a friend walked in. He had gotten out of reloading and was getting rid of some boxes of bullets. He had six in total, four in .45ACP/,45 Colt and two in .45/70. He asked me if I could use them and I said the Colt & AC was a yes. Also another friend of ours reloaded .45/70, so he said to give them to him. Profusely thanked him and loaded them in my truck. Total weight had to be close to 70 pounds of lead as the boxes were 500 round boxes.

Free is always good if they are usable. The exposed bullets look to be 454424 Lymans. That mold was later labeled 452424.

More gifts sort of................... The same friend left a note at the range for me to call him as he had more stuff to get rid of. Called him and another friend and I went to his house. He had more bullets, a brick of shotgun primers, three MEC shotgun loaders, extra pieces/parts for the loaders, a set of .45 Colt RCBS dies, a RCBS Universal Decapping die and a RCBS bullet puller die, more cast .45 Colt bullets, more ,45-70 bullets and a 500 count box of 9MM slugs. He asked us what we would give him for it and we countered with what do you want for it. He said $150, my friend said "No, we will give you $200". This stuff came home with us and was divvyed up. The next day he called me and said he had found some other stuff. So over I went. This time a couple of plastic pistol cases, turkey calls, a folding turkey seat, two new coolers , a liter bottle of more .45 bullets and a heat gun (NIB). The first Item I said no I did not want he threw it in a trash can (it was the NIB heat gun), I pulled it out and said I would take it. As I was getting ready to go after having tried to pay for the stuff, I opened the pistol cases. In one I found a Bushnell Red Dot and tried to give it to him, he said no for me to keep it. Guess you could say we fell into the dung heap and came out smelling like a rose.
