I was looking through my old Hebard catalogs to find out how much a S&W 4506-1 cost and I came across the S&W combat grips, they retailed for 40.50 and my cost was 29.50 with no shipping. I liked them and bought about four pairs, with what they are asking for them now I wish I had bought a lot of them. The catalog was about 92 or 93, I don't think they were listed for very many years. Gil Hebard! That name sure brings back memories. I still have the now battle scarred 5-gun pistol box that I bought from his company when I started doing bullseye shooting seriously. I may have bought my .45 Lewis Lead Remover there too.

I still have my Gil Hebard catalog #20 from 1970. Bought tons of stuff from them with the LE discount. Was always my favorite source for my shooting needs. Always looked forward to the latest issue. Was very sorry to see them go.

I called in an order once. (Actually I was checking stock to place an order) Had the honor of talking to Mr. Hebard on the phone. I am told that was not an uncommon experience. I bought as a LEO and later as a FFL. Good people to deal with. They got Smiths when nobody else seemed to be able to get them. Bought last in late 91- early 92 a trio of S&W 411s and a 586 4 in. Still have the 411 I bought for myself and the 411 I bought for a friend - I got it back when he passed in 2012.
