Glass chair mat

The usual plastic and carpeted chair mats seem to last only a couple of years, so I went looking for something different. Came across a round tempered glass one with beveled edges. Lifetime guarantee against scratching (Yeah, I know. lifetime of the company guaranteeing it ). Looks kinda sexy compared to the usual boring style mats available.

I have a tempered glass chair mat that lasted over 30 years. It did scratch though.

Looks nice, I’m looking for something similar. Did you order it online, or find it local? Is it big enough that you’re not constantly rolling off the edges?

I bought it off Amazon. Shop around as internet prices are crazy nuts on many things. The seller of this glass mat (American Floor Mats) has it on their web site for $599, but on Amazon they list the exact same thing for $199!!

As to being big enough, I guess it depends how much rolling around you do. For example, I just sit at my desk with the laptop, but others might roll from their desk to a printer, to a bookcase, etc. The square and rectangular glass mats are available in numerous sizes. The round one I bought I've only seen in 48" diameter.

The beveled edge, like on my round one, is also available on some of the square/rectangular ones. This makes for a smooth transition if you roll off the mat and back on.
