Glock 42 for pocket carry

It's too large for me to pocket carry, but I'm not a fan of pocket carry anyway.
It's about the size of a Wather PPKS or Sig 232. I think the Ruger LCP is a better choice for pocket carry.

It also can be ammo finicky. Mine didn't like some stuff I fed it. Always test your SD ammo before carrying it.

I have pocket carried my glock 42 daily since last July. After I ran a couple hundred rounds thru it.I found what it liked. It did not like win white box or cheap steel case ammo. When I found I was more accurate with it than my j frames I went with it for my bug.

Mine likes everything I have fed it. It will easily fit in the front pocket of a pair of Levi's. It's too big for the back pocket. Should be OK in cargo pants or shorts.

Mine is an excellent pistol!

Funny timing on your thread. I posted one last night along the same line.

I bought a LCP at lunch today for pocket carry. My EDC is a Glock 19 and I owned a Glock 42 (I'm a Glock Guy for Semi-autos) in the Springtime but found it for me to be too large for pocket carry. I so very much wanted to buy another today, but holding the LCP/42 next to each other I just didn't like the near extra inch and 50% extra weight of the 42. And I'm not a little guy. I also compared it with a 642 today.

To "ME", the LCP wins the pocket carry battle.

PS. I bought a M&P 15-22 too. It's a good day.

Here's some size comparisons I did last year. The 42 is definetly more shooter friendly than the LCP.

You couldn't pay me enough to pocket carry a Glock or anything with that type trigger. Too easy to snag it on the way in or out, or on something in the pocket. They may be fine pistols, but they belong in a holster, in my opinion. Flame away. . . :)

I pocket carry my 42 in an uncle mikes pocket holster. Is perfect for me. It has been 100% reliable for me. It replaced 442.

Sorry I wasn't clear. I pocket carry the glock 42 in a desantis pocket holster. That is same style of holster I prefer for my j frames. After trying several custom leather pocket holsters.I found the desantis worked best for me.But I agree I would never pocket carry without A holster.

I test fired a 42 at the local range. My sons GF was with us. I was amazed that a fairly new new shooter could pick up the 42 and score center mass hits time after time.

Once I quite trying to shoot the gun like a target pistol and just went one handed, it really shot well. I am not a fan of the .380. However this little gun is pretty neat.

I dont see any difference in carrying a 42 in a pocket holster than carrying j frame in a pocket holster. If the gun works for you go for it.

ive been carrying mine for months in my right front pocket in a blackhawk holster....no problems carrying that way.

The G42 is approx. same size as a Walther PPK.

I do know that Glock is still putting out a 'troubled' G42 now and then...however the G42 I bought in late November last year has been perfect. I do think consistently good ammunition is part of the issue with these pistols. Probably a good idea to do a 'break-in with these pistols..as in shoot a couple/three hundred rounds of good ball ammo down the tube before getting too excited about it not working perfect with every form of .380 ammo known to mankind

A) There shouldn't be anything else in the "gun pocket"
B) It should be in a holster
