Going price for NIB Model 58?

I have a chance at getting a new in the box Model 58. It has all paperwork and cleaning kit. From original owner! What would be a fair price on this. I know they are all over the place. Thanks in advance. He also has a Model. 27 NIB as well! It's a 4-inch with target grips, hammer, and trigger. I thought I would try to get both. The Model 27 he told me he had kept a few guns for a friend with a few issues years ago and he forgot about them and so did his friend. One day years later his friend returned for the guns and he couldn't find the Model 27! So he told him he'd buy him a new one! He gave the new one to his buddy and a few years later he found the original Model 27 in a safe at his business. He called the guy up and they exchanged weapons. The guy never even shot the replacement and neither did the guy I looking to get it from the whole time he's had it. He's a Colt guy LOL!

I saw a very minty one the other day in a LGS for 1 k which I thought was about $200 to high but I also remember when they were $!49.00 ??? or something like that so what do I know?? Nobody much wanted them back then as it was kind of a oddball caliber.

around here a NIB M58 would be at least $1000

An earlier one, with the diamond grips, would be 1K or so. A little less for a 70s example, I think.

Yep, the price on 58's is all over the place. The last one I saw in my area was an ask of $825, no box, tools, or paper. Probably could have had it for $750 cash. Best guess is the ask would have been $900+ ANIB.

The angel on your other shoulder may offer other advice, but mine is that you absolutely need to have both of these fine revolvers. Hope that helps with the difficult decision you'll need to make.

A M58 with box, stocks and everything, blued is probably at 1K or higher in my area. A nickel M58 with box, stocks and everything about 100 to 200 higher. They were cheap at one time, they are not cheap now! Saw a nickel M58 sell a month or so ago, just the gun, for $900. The buyer acted like that was a real deal. Glad he was happy!

Two months ago at the OGCA, table prices were between 1150 for blue and 1250 for nickel nib. A couple of shooter grade 58's were in the 750 range.

I bought my nib blue from an individual for 800 and consider myself lucky.

Unless you get very lucky, at least 1k and up for NIB regardless of vintage.
