I recently moved and now have Forest Service roads almost literally in my backyard. Since I ride motorcycles I'm going to buy a dual sport to do some exploring. I'd like to be able to carry either my Sport or 15-22 with me for plinking out in the woods.

I have a long hardcase for my Sport already but would like to find something shorter I so can break it or my 15-22 down and have a smaller package to mount on a tail rack.

Someone makes an AR with a quick removal barrel. Quick release barrel nut system I think.

Racer is referring to the Dolos system. There's another maker out there but don't recall the name. Honestly, I wouldn't put it in any kind of case. Get a decent sized backpack and you'll be gtg. If you want something specifically made for firearms then Google "ar15 backpack" and look around for what suits you.

Look at the take-down Ruger 10/22 for the role you describe.

I already have a Ruger Takedown. I want to play with my AR.

Search Amazon for "Bulldog Cases "Ultra Compact" AR-15 Discreet Carry Case ". I own one. The nice thing is it does not broadcast "I have an AR in this bag" to the world.

Thanks. That's the kind of thing I'm looking for.
