Didn't have a Sig in my stable until this weekend. Stopped by Gander Mountain and picked up an M11-A1 for $569, $602 OTD with tax and BC. Processing was way behind so didn't pick it up until 8pm yesterday. Haven't had it to the range yet of course but so far I'm quite pleased.

Will it kick my G19 to the curb? I guess time will tell. If you've got a GM closing in your area check it out. You might find a deal. I think I did.

Is that a used or CPO gun. That price seems low for a brand new one.

Brand new. Actually it's NOS as the gun dates to June 2013. Gander is going out of business. As a store closes any unsold inventory, at least with regards to firearms gets transferred to another store.

They are at 40% off right now. Last week they blew out all their Glocks for $200 something. Was eyeing a new G21 for $429 and almost bought it. Heard about the blowout and of course it and the other 4-5 Glocks they had left were long gone.

Sounds like you did get good deal.

Do you have any experience with the older Sig P228s? I am curious how the two models compare.

Sorry, shot a P226 years ago and that's pretty much it for my Sig experience. Did some research on this M11-A1 before I bought it and it seems to be highly regarded.

That is a very nice pistol and they shoot great, especially after you get used to the short reset trigger. I let the guys at deer camp shoot one last year and they all owned one within a couple of months.

229 (m11) replaced the 228 because they were the same thing. 229 was made to handle 40sw but otherwise same gun. The frame was slightly larger to accommodate the different caliber. So Sig was basically making two almost identical guns so they dropped the 228

I picked up an M11 and flipped it a few weeks ago, it was new unfired and I kept it that way. Everything about it was the same as my P228's. Great feel and balance loaded or unloaded.

FWIW I still carry a G19/4.

Only 3 guns left in ours today. Saw some ammo I bought for $44 last winter on sale for 40% off. Except now it costs $65 before reduction.

Our Gander Mountain actually had some deals for once. Used guns were 50% off, and my kid grabbed a PD trade in Sig 226 .40 DA/SA with the case, two mags, and bright night sights for $312. It looks barely used.

I went back the next day and all the used handguns were gone. They still had a 7mm Remington Rolling Block for $499. I'm gonna check tomorrow to see if its still there.

An employee told me that location will lock the doors the week of the 24th.

I guess I am a little confused. Gander Mountain closed in Toledo a week or 2 ago. They told us all were closing. Obviously yours has not yet. Some stores are to re-open as something else related according to associates spoken with. Congrats on your Sig! I have a 1911, & a 9mm 239. Both good guns. Bob

Ours has a sign that says the last day for firearms purchases is 8/21. I presume they will be closing shortly after that but haven't seen an actual closing date posted at the store.
