I have 3900 series pistols, but graduated to a 6946 and am looking for a leather OWB holster. I had steered clear of paddle holsters in the past. However, not having to remove my belt to remove my sidearm has some advantages. Also, the traditional OWB holsters might be bulkier than a paddle, since there are no belt loops?

Let me know what options you might recommend for 6900 and even 3900 series pistols, either paddle or loop

Thanks

The S&W DAO pistols with the extended slide and receiver that hides the partially cocked hammer can be problematic when it comes to holsters. Open top holsters are not a problem, but thumb break holsters that will cover the rear of the pistol and snap can be a problem. I lucked out, years before I got my 6946 I bought a Gould & Goodrich pancake holster for the 39-2 I had at the time. That holster will close over a DAO pistol. Holsters for the Beretta 92 may also work. I know I can safely carry my 6946 in a Bianchi Scorpion for the Beretta 92.
