Well i got this EX S&W NM #3 and its got the Rachet type Extractor.
Its ser # is in the 7000s
Are these ones more Rare than the other Non Ractet Extrator type?
Its a very nice Tight gun ex bore. I really like these S&W NM # 3s this one is 44 Russian 6.5 inch barrel Nickled gun.

Yours could be a rare bird indeed. According to Roy Jinks book in 1878 the ordanance department ordered 280 nickled NM#3's for the state of Maryland, 44R 6.5 inch barrels and wooden grips. Seril numbers were in the range 7126 - 7405. Marked US on butt, marked HN on the cylinder, on the frame under cylinder, bottom of the barrel and right grip. Left grip marked DAL unber 1878

Crap to Old by 6 guns.
No US markings on it.
Its still just as good tho!

Its in great orignal condition.
Clear barrel address all Numbers clear.
its got two small notches filed crosswise into the grip strap above the Mainspring ajustment screw.
