Got water?

Anybody need some? We've got too much at the moment. I just saw a report on a local river. It was at 13.01 feet and flowing 2700 CFS. Four days later the numbers were 26.25 feet and 61,300 CFS. Widespread flooding, lots of trees toppling over due to saturated soil. Heck, even the Federal prison is cut off from its water supply by a landslide. One side of one of the main roads to the coast sunk about a foot, giving a nice bi-level effect. Not as bad as Texas or the Carolinas but still a significant weather event. At least one guy tried to drive thru the water, got swept away and drowned. So, if you need water show up with buckets. You can have all you can carry.

The weather gurus are promising a wet Christmas here in Vegas. They predict nearly an inch of rain over Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. That is a lot for us this time of year, especially in one lump.

Here at 5000' in Central Arizona, a little water in the form of rain or snow would be nice. I can't gripe too much though, we have had a splendid fall, with warm daytime temperatures, dropping to around 70° now. We have some possible rain in the forecast, but I doubt we'll see much...

Aha... the atmospheric river we had up here earlier this month decided to "go south for the winter"? I'm safe at 384' but the Can-US border at Sumas WA was closed for a couple of days as Sumas, and Everson south of it, were flooded, as was Sumas prairie on the Canadian side. When I drove down last Thursday I said to the guy at the border, "I guess I don't need my kayak today?" Driving to Bellingham you could barely tell but people are hurting for sure, with lots of damage in Whatcom and Skagit counties.

Well, the river would have to come up nearly 300 feet to lap at my toes here. It would also have to go from 1/4 mile wide to 1.75 miles wide. So, there's very little chance I'll need my water wings. Being at the top of the hill has it's advantages.

It's coming to SoCal and there will be floods and landslides. Don't want to be near the foothills.

re my post about flooding up here on the Can-US border recently, this was posted in the Bellinghm Herald today. And the land being flat, there's nowhere to pump it. Just have to wait until the water subsides.
