We need a new research team. It slipped past the current one that Bob Gould stepped down in 2012 and his replacement, Scott Nelson, sold up to Point Blank Ents. Inc. in May of last year.
The mention gives up the dates, that Gould was a product manager at S&W Leather beginning 1979 and purchased the company from S&W in 1985 when the gun company changed hands.
I know that for a few years the company continued as S&W Holster or Leather, then by contract had to change names and the new owners chose Gould & Goodrich (Jon Goodrich being the other half). So before 1990.
Aficionados will know that S&W Leather was formed through the purchase of Wolfram Leather in 1969. Prior it was owned by Safariland (1967 announcement) who appear to have acquired it from G.F. Cake, itself acquired then (1967 announcement) whilst it owned 50% of Wolfram.
Al Kippen, then Bucheimer's plant manager, was tapped to make the transition of S&W Leather from CA to NC at that time.
