Hello all,

New member, old man. Have always been an S&W fan. Even own some stock. Live out in the beautiful North Carolina countryside. My neighbors are horses and cattle. Avid outdoorsman (salt water fishing junkie), and 2nd Amendment supporter. I own a variety of handguns including a 15-3 in nickel, a model 10 snubby and an sdve40 that lives in my truck. Have a Kahr, Walther and Sig as well. I'm a local government employee and work part time selling guns and fishing equipment at Academy Sports in order to take advantage of the employee discount. I'm by no means an expert so I look forward to learning from you fellas.

Welcome. I graduated from Chapel Hill, then returned to my home state of Maryland back in the late '70s when it was still part of America. I dream of escaping to beautiful NC when I retire.

Welcome from western NC. As you know, NC is one of the most gun friendly places you can live. Most sheriffs support 2A and getting CWP and ATF forms signed by them is an easy task.

So much of the state is rural where people shoot on their own land. There is a problem finding public OUTDOOR ranges for a new place to shoot. I got so frustrated I leased the 2 acres next door and am setting up my own 3D archery and gun course through the woods. There is a path through the woods enough to walk and various shooting stations along the way. When finished, it will be a 1000' long loop. Various foam and bag archery targets. For the guns: spinners, metal plates, B-27, bowling pins on chains, rubber snakes, etc.
