Howdy, I am a well seasoned (54)sailor, new to S&W. I was in the market to get a .45acp the other day, and while looking over all the 1911 variations, I saw a large SS Semi-Auto in the "looking for a new home" section.
I ended up purchasing the first 4506-1 I had seen since 1991. Brought it home and disassembled for a though inspection. The pistol has almost no wear, the grips were clean, with no dings at all. It has been fired, but doesn't look like very often.
The internet, ironically, has very little information regarding the 3rd generation Semi-Auto. My son's martial arts instructor lead me to this forum. Said all things Smith can be found here.
Thank you for letting me join your group, I look forward to lots of questions and experienced wisdom.-Charles
