A Glock guy here, but I inherited this S&W. It's a M-25 in .45 Colt. It seems back in the 80's, it was used as a "pin gun."

Mods listed include: "Parkerized finish; action job, including smoothed/polished trigger; bobbed DAO hammer; Tulipwood stocks"

Any thoughts appreciated...:)

Welcome to the fourm. It looks like a fine gun. Have you taken it out yet, and shot it yet?

:) Welcome to the forum. Sorry about the Glock thing.:D:D:D Having and shooting your model 25 might swing you over to S&W's. "I hope" Don

Welcome to the forum. That is a great looking Mod 25 in a great caliber. I have one in 45 ACP and would love to fine one in 45 Colt. They are sorta scarce at the shows I attend. You need a big bore like that for bowling pins, they can really take a beating. Enjoy your new revolver.

I shot a stock M57 six inch on pins at the old Second Chance Bowling Pin Shoot, (the mother of all pin shoots.)
If your dad shot there with that gun, I may have competed against him.

It looks like a neat gun. If you want to shoot it in competition, and there are no pin shoots in your area, it would also work well on steel plates.

I used a 29-3 with full lug barrel and loaded with 240 gr. cast lead SWC's loaded to 44 Spec velocities for pins in the Revolver class. What great fun. It's been too many years since I've had the pleasure.
