I just recieved a grip adapter I bought on Ebay for $35. I thought the entire adapter was made of metal but only the clip part is metal the body os made of some sort of plastic. It came in a well marked box with S&W trademark on every side. Was this something that was licensed to pachmayer back in the day? I assume it will fit an N frame marked large and plan to put it on a 28-2. I have an identical one with the S&W trademark on side of it on a model 14 no dash. It looks good on a gun with magnas but was just wondering about the origin of these adapters?

They were manufactured by either Pachmayr or Mershon and sold by S&W as a S&W accessory. They are identical to those marketed by Mershon and Pachmayr. Large refers to the filler size, not frame size

Thank you very much for the insight Alk8944. I have plenty of vintage K frame revolvers to choose from. Most have target stocks on them as that is my preference but just like my m14 I have a few with numbered to the gun diamond magnas and I think they go best with a grip adapter.
