Anyone ever made or know where to purchase a plug that would make the inside of the grip water proof? I wanting to store batteries in it.

This is not an assault rifle so if you go swimming with it you will likely have issues so I don't see the need for a water proof compartment.

I think you might have to just replace the entire grip with one of those magpul grips that are designed to hold batteries.

Put the batteries in glad lock and duct tape it. But you still need a grip that has a cover.

I've used these in 2 different ARs over the years with A2 grips, and never had one drop free. In fact, to properly seat them takes some effort, I'd bet the ones you found on the ground weren't seated properly. At least that was my experience with them. Mine were both the DPMS versions.

Could be, but the two I've picked up are DPMS.

I bailed out on that stock grip immediately and got a CAA.. the only grip I really like to use and it has this feature, among other great features. I am kind of a grip snob though. Bikes, guns, ski poles... very picky about grips.

Yep, MOE+ is my favourite; plenty of grip storage options too. I keep a Magpul front sight adjustment tool, 1 penny piece (for adjusting my Eotech) and a Surefire CR123 in mine.

MOE+ on an AR is nice, I swapped mine out last week. I tried it on the 15-22 but it creates a large gap between the upper and grip on the upswell of the grip, or whatever it's call. So I bought a Houge overmold for the 15-22 today and it has the same softer feel of the MOE+ without the upswell area gap.
