This is a great day. Ordered a Kimber today. I went with the Stainless TLE II. Heard nothing but great things about this gun. The only negative coming from owners are the black synthetic double diamond grips.

Any advice for me as Im fixin to Pimp this bad boy out? Im thinking about a light color to go with the Stainless.

I have the same gun and installed Carbon Creations carbon fiber grips. I could care less what the rest of the world thinks about it...I personally think it looks great. Brownell's sells the grips but they dont have a very good picture of them. Google it you will see. Great gun by the way.

Thanks msinc. Would these grips work in your opinion?

Here is a photo showing the nice cocobolo grips I put on my Kimber Warrior. Can't go wrong with nice wood.

Every time I pick up a new 1911 I ditch the factory grips for some VZ grips (or "vee zed" grips as we say in Canada :) ) There are lots of styles and textures available and I've found shipping to be fast as well. My SIG TTT probably is closest of mine to your Kimber in looks...here's how it looks in VZ "Blasted Black Canvas" Gatorbacks.

I've had less than stellar performance from Kimber, so the grip I recommend for them is someone else's hand.

Most of my 1911's wear faux ivory(Smith has a very affordable pair) for Bar-B-Q carry or old school Pachmayr on the high volume shooters.
