Yes I broke down and tried 4756 today.
2# 38 loads and a 357.
The 38 loads were starting for jacket
in 125 gr{ Berry hp] and 158gr speer fmj 150gr].
No speed data or targets yet but both showed
to hit well at 7 yds most touched and
felt like factory mags-
The 357 was same 125gr with a close to top load.
Flash, Boom, Crack, ground shake, heavens opened. Wha-hoooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!
Pressure sighs look ok cases will push out
easly.

Eric,

Right on what? There is no load data and no measurable results. Just a bunch of words and useless exaggerations. Come on Erich, you are very much on top of things as I have read many of you posts. You sure as hell know what your doing.

I would imagine, not to put words in Erich's mouth, that "The Powder" was connected to "The Load", since that's what is used in "The Load".

Tonight, I loaded some weenie loads for my #2 daughter consisting of 5.2 gr of SR 4756 with a 158 gr LSWC.

SR 4756 actually meters much better than TiteGroup at these levels, but I really don't understand how anyone can even think of throwing any of them without weighing each charge.

Those spherical/ball powders really don't meter too much better than SR 4756, with quite a few loads being dumped back into the hopper due to high or low charges. I accept +/- .04 gr, which is an .08 gr spread. I don't accept .3 gr off the target weight, like TiteGroup produces many times.

Hi Bob,

My "Right on" was just saluting Groo in his experimentation in trying SR 4756, which has been much reviled but is, IMHO, a pretty neat powder.

I didn't have much to say since there wasn't much information, but since no one had replied in 18 hours after Groo's post, I wanted to give him a brotherly shout-out as a fellow handloader who has delved into trying this powder.

Groo,
To coin a recent phrase, "RIGHT ON!"

I too have been experimenting with SR4756 only now in 40S&W!
They aren't flash, boom, bang loads as I am shooting them in a Glock 22. No need to tempt fate as they say.
Take a look though at some awesome results!

Here is a picture of the new Glock slide and grip finish. Kind of neat. Not only that, but it works. That dude is in your hand and stays there without grip tape.

(Data posted below is for reference only. Might not be safe in your firearm.)
Here is a target. 15 yards, 5 shot group. The bullet is a Ranier 180gr HP, I'll not list the charge but it is on the picture. It is shot from a rest. The lines on the target are in 1/2" increments. Quite acceptable in my opinion.

We need to move off of this thought process Paul. There are many reasons NOT to weigh each charge, volumetric measuring is fine for MOST handgun applications. Either end of the data, high or low though and you are quite right. I think that is the way the big manufacturers do if for the military, even if it is cannon shells!

OK Eric, I stand corrected.

Skip that seems to be a nice load you have developed for your new Glock. What will that be THE 40 LOAD?

I agree with you about measuring powder vs. weighing it. In fact measuring is a must if you expect to ever produce enough ammo for much shooting unless you happen to be retired. I am not.

BTW I like the looks of that new Glock. We ordered 75 Glocks from our distributor and received a total of three. Whoopee!! Like almost everything else gun related Glocks are in short supply. The supply problem is getting much worse not better. The stuff can't be made and shipped fast enough to keep up with demand.

Groo here
I have not included any targets or speeds
as this a start.
I have little use for crono data until the
load shows to be not overly high pressure
and will at least put 4 out of six touching
at 7 yds.
I have loaded for over 40 years , my way of doing things will be different than you,
but in the end I believe we are looking
for the same thing.
A safe accurate load.
