I recently bought a biometric gun box to secure my m&p 9 from the kids. I'm looking for some advice on where to keep it. I'd like it in my bedroom for quick access when I'm sleeping. Right now it's in plane sight sitting on top of my dresser. It won't fit in a drawer it's to big. I like the idea of just bolting it to the top of my dresser but it really stands out and my girlfriend is definitely not a fan of it sitting out. I could bolt it to the floor but I'd rather not have to get down on my hands and knees every time is access my safe.....(I know it's not a real safe). I'd love to see pictures of how you all have yours mounted. A several hundred pound safe is not an option right now. I live in a rural area were the threat of a break in is fairly low.

Drill some holes in your iron bed frame and mount it with some bolts. One time my wife put a top and a bottom dust ruffle on our bed with the top one between the matress and boxsprings. You could do this and use the top dust ruffle to drape over the safe.

If you want it out of sight how about putting it on a shelf in your closet and bolt it to the studs. I have two one setting on the nightstand the other on a bakers rack in the dinning room. One on the night stand is exactly at arms length so I just stick my finger in the reader and grab what I need. Mine are only to keep the handguns handy and out of the GK's reach, not that I've had a problem with any firearm with them but they have friends over. I leave them unbolted in case I have to grab and run, you know in case of fire flood earthquake, meteor strike zombie attack.

Make sure you put several finger prints into it and epically several from the no dominant hand. I get cuts on my fingers all the time and it sometimes won't open first time with the cuts.

I'm lucky and have no children in my house, and my younger grandchildren live 2200 miles away. I keep one in my bedside table with a mag in the gun so I only need to jack the slide. There are two others in strategic locations around the house. My walk in vault is down the basement.

Bolt it out of the way wherever you want.
Take the gun out and put it on your night stand when you go to bed.
Put it back in the *safe* when you get up.

Without knowing what brand/model you have I'm not sure what to suggest. Some are easier to mount and access from the bed than others. Not to mention with the biometric scanner, you need to be able to align your finger with the scanner and from the bed, I'm sure that eliminates some options.
