I remember a small shop nearby that closed a few years ago.
The owner always had his dog (some kind of spaniel) with him.
The owner was also a chain smoker.
I always felt sorry for that poor dog.
THANKS! There's NOTHING cooler than gun shop dogs! My favorite was an Irish Setter "Old Red" at Bell's gun shop on Mannheim rd. in Stone Park Illinois. Hadn't thought of him in years? He'd lay there with his head on his Dad's foot the whole time local P/D's were blazing away with 12 gauge's in the range. The only time that dog opened it's eyes, was when the shooting stopped. Or when someone unwrapped a Slim Jim!
Thanks again for that pic!
At the Outdoorsmen gun shop in NE Pa (off route 81 at Lenox) they had 3 black Labs. Cooper, Dakota and Kimber. Recently the two older ones died and I believe Kimber is the one left.
There's a little shop not far from me that has 2 really sweet dogs. One is a beautiful black lab, the other a really cute little cocker spaniel.
I don't buy much there but go in to get my "dog fix" since loosing my best bud 2 years ago. They just come up looking to get some loving pats and rubs. How can I say no?
Zercool,
I recall my Grandmother always referring to a "rat terrier". And sure enough, when I showed her a picture of a J/R she said "yeah, that's it! A rat terrier"!
Most terriers were used to catch rodents. I often call our a Yorkie a "rodent chaser". That dog is 9lbs of unbridled sprit, thinks he's 90lbs! He rough plays with our male rough coat collie! Amazing little creatures.
