Went to the gun show in Richmond, Va. (Showplace) this morning and was amazed at the prices people are asking for Smith and Wesson, Colts or any quality firearm. Model 64's at $650, any desirable "N" frame revolver was over $1000, even lame guns like Llama's and German RG's were $300. Not a deal in the house, save one:
I bought this Romanian Military Training rifle from a guy walking around for $50. In 1995 I bought four of these rifles when they first imported them, if you bought four they were $55 each. Not bad rifles, light, fairly accurate, a good truck or canoeing gun.
Another thing I noted was that ammuntion prices have risen about 25% since the election, I see no reason for it other than mass hysteria. Three months ago a 1000 round case of PMC .223 was $310, .31 cents per round, now it's $420, .42 cents per round. I'm sure this will pass like it did after the last election, but it took two years before ammuntion and reloading components were plentiful and affordable.
I sold a gun I was toting around, then went to a pawn shop where I had been working a deal for a 1975 vintage 4" Model 29-2, got it and went to the range. Both revolver and Romanian rifle shot well, got a good deal on both of them, so I am a happy camper.
