Obviously these are only 2 of many examples but this is the idea.

I feel in cases it can act as a deterrent to scare of would-be BGs who do not feel like chancing their life that night. But I also feel it can have negative effects. One it can warn those BGs and allow them to prepare to wage war inside your home. The other con I worry about is when you are not home BGs see that sticker and now know there is a high chance that home has some nice firearms they can steal.

What do u all think? Also would u think the 2nd sign "warning, I don't dial 911" could cause some problems with your defense in court if you ever had to defend your home and use deadly force?

It would be an invitation to break in when you're not home and steal the guns.
I think, if you were involved in a shooting, these signs would be shown to the prosecutor, and if they are anti-gun, would lead them to see you as looking to get into a gunfight. If there was a civil suit, it would DEFINITELY be shown.

I think these signs are a bad idea. Why let ANYBODY know you have guns?

Bad idea to advertise anything gun related on your house or car.

Bad because you lose the element of surprise and any tactical edge you had. If a determined bad guy wants what you have, a sign ain't gonna stop him but will make him more determined to out shoot or out gun you.

I love gun stickers on cars. Just an invitation for someone to knock out a window or screwdriver the door lock. Whether or not the gun is in there doesn't matter.

Just put a plain sign on you door: "Anyone found here in the evening will be found here in the morning". More subtle.

I don't put stickers on my house, but it is sort of silly (here, anyhow) to say that it just announces you have guns in the house, therefore inviting break-ins. Ninety out of 100 houses where I live have guns in them. It would be more surprising to find one without guns than one with them. About that same percentage of automobiles, especially pickup trucks, in the rural areas have firearms in them. I think I have a NRA sticker on my truck. Not really sure without going out and checking.

My sign says: Trespassers will be shot
Survivors will be prostituted!

I don't do it. I don't even put a NRA sticker on my truck. I don't want advertise to any one that I have a gun. Don

It would be like talking your hand in a poker game or telegraphing your punch in a fist fight. To advertise is to give up any edge you might have in my opinion.

If someone wants to know if I have a gun in the house then I suggest that they break in some night......NOT! :D

I'd rather just prostitute the survivors. At least that way you could make a profit from them.

Id rather have the BGs find out the hard way when they are staring down the barrel of my .40 cal

I think a reasonable person would be deterred by the signs.

That said a reasonable person ain't likely to do you or your property any harm to start with?

As posted above, most homes where I live are fairly well armed. I don't see the signs being harmful.

They don't likely do any good either though?

You can't reason with crazy.

I am not aware of it happening yet, but I would not be surprised to learn that an 'attractive nuisance or enticement and entrapment" defense could be used against the sign poster. You know, like " he's a good boy and he needed a gun to protect himself and if those people hadn't advertised they had guns in their house he wouldn't have been tempted to break in looking for one". Not really so far fetched when stacked up against testimony heard in courtrooms these days.
