I walked in the door yesterday and saw the wife watching some goofy movie on Lifetime or some thing similar. Some guy in an affair ended up shooting his girlfriend with a snub .38 Special, and the special effects guy made it look like her whole upper body darn near blew out from one bullet. If you were to follow this comparitive logic, then when I shoot a deer with something like a .30-06, the whole animal should disintegrate on contact. Watching that one second, along with alot of other Hollywood idiocies is why some people feel the way about guns that they do.

Sometimes they screw up in the opposite direction. People getting shot with 30/06's and multiple hits with an AR and they're up and walking around in an hour or two. Gee, maybe guns aren't as dangerous as we thought.
No respect either way.

I love it when a large gitaway car is scratching out at a 100 yards and the hero blasts it with a handgun and it explodes in a fireball!

...I've seen that happen on the "boob tube" with a shot from what looked like a .22 snubby...

I used to like it when on "Hawaii Five-O", [fanatical anti-gunner] Jack Lord would hit a car going 60mph, 200 yards away, in a full deflection shot, double action... from the hip. He'd hit it in the tire and the entire wheel would blow off like it'd been hit with a 37mm cannon round.

its entertaining to count the rounds fired from a 6 shot revolver in movies, and they are not shooting LeMat's

...I was watching "Romancing the Stone" the other day...the sawed off 12ga pump Michael Douglas uses (looks like an 870 wingmaster) appears to take four in the mag and one in the pipe...yet he fires NINE times before each reload...

It's not just guns. That large getaway car, say a Towncar, can also turn a 90 degree corner at 60 mph!

I thought this was gonna be an "Elvis" type
thread where one sees something disagreeable
on the tube which compels one to shoot it with
ones favorite weapon of choice.

I think Elvis killed a TV or two in his day
as an example.
I have to admit feeling compelled to do so
myself a few times lately. Usually when
socialist politicians are on the tube
blabbering about one thing or the other.
