I helped a friend who owns a gunshop out for the weekend at the gunshow. Me and a couple of other guys, all friends. Well, this was his first show as a dealer, and it was great. One reason, he had good deals. He wasen't trying to get rich on every sale like some there. So, as a show of thanks, he said he would sell us or order anything we wanted at his cost. Now what do I want? When a deal like this comes along, you jump on it. I really don't have a lot of cash right now so I have time to think about it. Any suggestions. I figure to go upscale, thanks to getting it at cost. I am thinking a Classic. Maybe the 29.

This would probably be the time I'd probably buy a Performance Center gun - hard to go wrong with a 29, but the PCs would be singing to me.

Best of luck,

Dave

A PC revolver is on the radar for sure. Can the PC make a revolver without the ...lock?

Yes. But they won't.

If I were you I would get him to order you a 3" Lew Horton Model 24 or Model 29 and call it good.

If a regular production gun is all the budget allows, hard to go wrong with the new Model 27.

Anything on this used gun rack of interest to you at the price he paid for it?

(one) of my grail guns is a 3" barreled 610 with a tuned trigger and hammer, chamfered charge holes. I can think of others, but I'm making moaning noises, so Mrs. Double-0 may be thinking I'm either watching the Food network, or a gun book/magazine - gotta run.

Best of luck,

Dave

That's what I'd be looking at, too, especially if a handgun is what I wanted. Now a nice Ruger Red Label 28 gauge O/U at cost would be tempting.

Get a fixed sighted N-frame.

They aren't all the common, you know....
But I'm a bit slanted.

I am a 44spl addict, and the 24 is way up on the want list. What I really would like is a Mod 24 with the red ramp front sight, like on the Mod 29. The partridge just don't do it for me. However it would not stop me from getting a 24 as is, and then change it later. Second would be to get the 29. I do belive it is going to be a revolver, not an auto, at this time. Is there a link to Lew Horton here on S&W? I can do a search.
