I cast bullets from wheel weights and lube with Lee Alox. The lube works great but the stuff never seems to dry out, it's always kinda sticky, not real nice if you put a few in your pocket. Soooo, got to thinking about something to put on, hairspray was lightly applied. I let it dry and not sticky anymore. Next I cleaned pistol barrel, loaded up 24 rounds at somewhat over recomended loading data to test for any residue. Nothing, clean as when I started. Whats your thoughts? has anyone else tried this or something like it? Thanks, now I'm gonna duck and cover for comments. Oh and I almost forgot, they smell good too.

Good thought though. I have about 200 230gr LRN TL bullets that need to be loaded up. I can get hairspray for next to nothing.

Others have tried "mica" with good success but I never have.

I will give it a try though and try to remember to post my results here.

Now I feel better about the fact that I coat my bullets with lipstick so the holes in the target will be easier to see.

I guess I should also mention that I clean the case lube off with perfume.I just hate it when ammo doesn't smell nice.

When bullet lube wants to come off..
Get a small box and a can of BABY POWDER.
Place an amount of bullets in the box and sprinkle baby powder on top of them. Cover the box and shake it. The Powder will go on to the lube and the problem is solved.

This is getting down right "Hints From Holoise". I hope you all have advice for split ends.

The only function of hair spray that is remotely connected with shooting that I know about, concerns potato guns. Aqua-net seems to launch those spuds pretty far.
