This post-war transition 38/44 Outdoorsman (S71000 range) was converted to 45 Colt caliber several years ago by Hamilton Bowen. It was done at the request of Bill Powell, a well known S&W and Colt collector, who passed away before the gun was finished. This revolver is a great shooter. I had these ivory stocks made for a pre-war grip frame and put them on this gun the other day and they fit perfectly. I wanted to share the package with you. Click on the photo for a better look.

Beautiful, Bill.

As a student of the old Wolf & Klar firm Bill Powell would be very pleased with those ivory steerheads!

That's a gun to be proud of for sure. There isn't anything not to like here. Love the front sight!

That is really nice. I really like the "Keith long range front sight" and the rest of the package aint too shabby, either. Thanx for sharing.....
