Good morning,
I had a trouble with hammer nose bushing in my N frame S&W 44 Magnum 29-5.
So, I was looking for another hammer nose bushing good for my revolver.
I've been answered that the just number part is 03369.
I live outside of the USA, in Europe and from America they don't ship to my country (Italy) anything.
So I found in Austria, with a lot of luck, a hammer nose bushing by Brownells, but the part number is 071240000 and it is for L Frame.
Now, can I use this item in my N frame S&W 44 Magnum?

Thank you.
In awaiting.

According to the S&W Factory Parts manual, the stainless hammer nose bushing you list, part number 07124, will function properly in your model 29 frame, but as a stainless part, the finish will not match the carbon steel/blued breechface. (frame finish) The difference in the two parts you list above would be purely cosmetic.

Please keep in mind, the hammer nose bushing is not a user replaceable or "drop in" part. The proper removal and installation of this particular part requires special training, tools and gauges.

Can you describe the issue with your model 29 with respect to the hammer nose bushing? (photos would be helpful)

The problem came during a shooting session.
The cylinder was jammed and it was very difficult to open it due the spent primers that went outside, on firing, pushing into the hammer nose bushing that had gone a little inside too, jamming the cylinder.
The hammer nose bushing has been extracted properly by an expert person and reassembled with the grove on top and a reinforcement of a inox steel ring with the same diameter of the hammer nose bushing and a thickness of 0,30mm.
Now everything seems going perfectly.
Anyway, I preferred to take spare parts as the hammer nose bushing, because you never know...

Grazie per quella spiegazione. Sono contento che tu sia riuscito a farlo riparare correttamente e che il corretto funzionamento sia stato ripristinato.

[Thank you for that explaination. Glad you were able to have it repaired properly, and proper functioning has been restored.]

Hello armorer951,

could I ask you to have a look into the correct part number of an old M29-2 for the hammer nose bushing
I have found an "universal" one but just to double check

Hammer Nose Bushing, New Factory Original | Gun Parts Corp.

I have also added two pictures to the same issue as docpilot has
