Hi again.
Took my M-15 apart to clean it (not the 1st time). My problem came up when I put back the trigger and rebound spring etc.
When it came time to insert the hammer, I pulled back on the trigger, and set the hammer in place so that it would slide into the spot where the hand is and then meet the end of the trigger. It should work. The little extension of the trigger that is supposed to move the hammer up/down or whaterver it does, won't slide in below the cutout on the hammer, it's off very, very slightlyl like half the thickness. Can't get the trigger to drop that minute amount for it to set right. What the heck is the secret to putting back the hammer on the gun so it works??

OK, take the rebound spring & block/slide out, you don't need to be fighting it while you're working. Remove the hammer and look at it. Now, you can see the gap between the end of the double action sear (shiny lever on the front of the hammer below the hammer nose/firing pin) and the projection I call the "foot" of the hammer. The projection on the upper rear of the trigger is supposed to go in the gap between the double action sear and the projection ("foot") just below it that has the single action sear notch.
