1st quarter of the 21th century officially gone at midnight, an Extra happy New Year.
A few thoughts, if I may:
Every time someone has a "prayer request" I do it while I'm reading it. I don't respond to the thread because it sometimes takes me awhile. After 40 "wicked" years, at almost 72 I'm still working on "Faith."
I was 48 when I joined up, much less civilized back then. I appreciate that I can plant my flag on a wild opinion and the dogpiles are painless. The mods have my respect and I try to give it in return. When I am wrong, they promptly admit it.
Some of us have grown old together, sharing joys, sorrows, success and failures with a fair bit of "PG" humor. I hope to continue.
I am feeling a "sense of fresh air" in our country, most all the animosity has evaporated in the last 2 months. I feel more optimistic than I have ever in this century.
The only disappointment I feel right now is the realization that material things bring little joy. I remember chasing revolvers all over Florida, some with Dick (dimonback68) egging me on: " Joe, if'n you don't buy it, I will." Now I wonder if I can put them back before my time runs out. I can't ask Dick for advice any more.
So hoist an extra one for me folks, I lost my "drinking priviliges" on March 22, 1993 and the world is better for it, as am I. Joe
