I'd like to...

But I think saps/blackjacks aren't legal for those unbadged people like me in the Peach State.

Not that I think I could use one anyway...

Since they are made in Canada, you might have problems getting one imported into the U.S. Try the Boston Leather company, they still make factory saps.

GatorFarmer - thanks for advice. You are probably right about importation. I'd still like to find out more. Thx again!!

But I tell ya, There is something satisfying about the feel of a good old fashoned flat black jack in ones back pocket. I've always liked the 8" S&W style Junior. It's what I had back when I was but a wee lad (stole it from my dad

You got that right, especially if a gun is not the answer.

I haven't seen one of those saps in years. When I was in high school, one of my friends father was the county sheriff. He always had one of those in his hip pocket and a copule of extras in his car.

That was back in the day. Now our sheriff deputies dress like cops, but my friends father was a small slim man, wore a cowboy shirt, tan western pants, a brown tooled leather belt with a tooled leather holster in a nickel plated snubbie S&W. Oh, also wore cowboy boots. They also drove "plain" unmarked cop cars.

If you were a bad actor back them, you got that sap up side the head before they threw your sorry butt in the back of the car. That was before it was politically incorrect to use a little "persuasion"

Sneaky Saps The "Palm Sap" was a cylinder of lead encased in leather and had a strap so you could secure it in your palm with the strap going around the back of your hand. Invisible at night for sure. Some Police Officers used to simply love these types of Saps because when used in front of other "Tough Guys," because it looks like someone being knocked out by being slapped open handed. If the Officer kept the "secret" well, he would develop a reputation on the street of being able to knock someone out by slapping them upside the head. The best way they were used was in a crowd of people causing trouble, taking out the Big Mouth in the group.
