Yeah,I know some Emmett Kelley wannabe will say it eventually so ill beat you to the punch: "yeah,we had a BBQ at his house yesterday."

Now for the serious part--has anyone had it? I bought a bottle of it at the last gun show--which is the only place I know to get this at. The sauce DO LOOK GOOD and you can see the spices in it easily enough. Sorry I cant post a pic of the "whiskey bottle/Whiskey-flasked shaped bottle" or I would.

What did you think of it if anyone here has tried it>?

I never met Emmitt Kelly.
But I did know Emmitt Kelly Jr. ex wife.
She and her kids called their dad, Emmett Jr. That ***.
They called Emmett Senior that Old ***.

I didn't know that Junior was selling sauce. I'll try it if I see it.

I'm kinda stuck on Stubbs.

Ive eyed bottles of Stubbs for years now,but never bought any. That may change today--after I leave here--im stopping at HEBs.

The only placeive seen it at--was at the Robstown Gunshow. The lady I got it from,is my Salsa Verde lady. Im wondering if Hank Williams Jr.has a website that it can be purchased from?

Also,if you have an HEBs near you--a few months ago--they put out another HEB line of sauces-and these taste pretty good to.The kind I get has a spicy kick to it--almost like a sweet but hot sauce like kick.It goes great with Chicken and egg rolls.I havent tried it with anything else yet.

Ringo---Try the Stubb's Honey Pecan...... As Stubb's used to say "Ladies and Gentleman, I'm the Cook"
If you get to Austin, stop by 801 Red River RD. That is where the famous BBQ is and there's also a Juke Joint right there.

HEB? The only HEBs I ever saw were in Texas.
Me in Texas- Why would you name your grocery stores HEB?
Local nice Texas Lady- You might if your name was Butt.

No, but I've had Hot Sauce Williams' sauce. The forum members from NE Ohio will know what I'm talking about. I've seen Hank's advertized, but haven't found it locally.

Many of my jobs took me to new states, where there were new
and different grocery stores that carried items not found at home.

Many a trip home when the job was over I would bring a case of this and that home to enjoy.
Some food items and some "Liquid"..............:D
Bless those West coast mini breweries.

I stopped at HEBs yesterday--they didnt have any Stubbs on the shelves????:confused: They usually have a great selection of it there. Im going to Wally world Sat and will check there. Somehting that surprised me this morn when I went to Academy. First--they still had:::when I called::: three fourteen hundered round buckets left--but,naturally-as soon as I got there--the last one sold and I saw the guy walking away.

Anyway, I got two boxes of CCI suppressor ""special run copper-plated"" as I wasnt leaving empty-handed.Anyway,I waltzed towards the restroom, stopped and saw they had a sauce and spice section. I didnt write down the brand but--same exact size and type bottle of the HWJr sauce was in--was another brand. However, that brand was nowhere near as thick and spicy looking as Hanks stuff is. That brand looked more like colored water with a bit of dirt in it.

Is that BBQ place anywhere near Round Rock?? I know there were two places that were well-known that were in or near Elgin.

Last I heard,HEB ::::Harold Edward Butt::::: are now in at least fiveteen states. Supposedly, they are the nations fifth largest grocery store chain--soI heard. Whataburger is another in many states--and after the original owners passed away--the kids moved the coorporate offices to San Antonio--and were not supposed to do so.

Haven't seen or tried it; probably comes out of a 100,000 gallon BBQ sauce vat somewhere in China, like everything else now days.
David

Thankfully--not chinese made. Its made in theUSA--and I THINK??? here in Texas or maybe Tenn???? Even the glass bottle is made here.

Never seen the stuff in my area. However, I have cooked several hundreds of pounds of BBQ so far this year.......

My recommendation, any good or decent BBQ sauce from the store.

Get a mixing bowl.

50/50 ratio the BBQ sauce to apple cider vinegar.

A healthy dash of molasses.

Crush black or white pepper.

Onion powder.

Mix thoroughly. Smoke with hickory chips or cook on logs......low and slow.

Good food takes time. ;)

I wish they'd build a huge HEB near me, cause I love that store.
I got 5 of their different house brand bbq sauces last week.
Carolina,Texas,Kansas City, Kentucky Bourbon, and Memphis. So far I've tried the Texas and the Carolina, and they're both good and priced right, ta boot.

I have never heard of a Bocephus BBQ Sauce, though I 'd try it. Then again I have noticed most celebrity based foods are somewhat overrated. Except Paul Newman's, his stuff is good. As for BBQ Sauce, Stubb's is hard to beat -taste homemade.
