Scott Copeland is a friend of mine. He’s a swell guy and a veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan. Earlier this year he was diagnosed with liver cancer. Later this month, Scott will check into the VA hospital to undergo a liver transplant operation.
I visited Scott last week. His spirits are up but his body is weak. His wife runs a small hair styling business in Mount Vernon, Texas but with Scott unable to work the family is struggling financially. Mount Vernon is not a thriving city.
Tomorrow, Tuesday May 6th, from 11 a.m. to closing, the Chili’s Restaurant in Mount Pleasant, Texas will donate 10% of every customer check to Scott and his family. If you live in the area, think about stopping in.
