News report says a mother in Texas protected her young kids by shooting carjacker in the face while trying to drive away with her kids in the back seat. If the story is correct, Way to Go Mom! Anyone know if there is a crowd-funding site to pay to detail clean her car?

Texas mom shoots man trying to take car with her kids inside at gas station: 'I hope that woke him up' | Fox News

But notice how she said that the "Gentleman" would not get out of the car -- and that's when she shot him.
She might be a Lady, but he was no gentleman.

I am so glad she had and was able to get to the gun to protect her children. I also feel for those children who may be traumatized because of what their mother was forced to do.

My wife locks the car doors when she is pumping gas ..

I finally got it thru that too many robberies and car jackings happen at
gas stations and many in broad daylight !! she also places her purse be hind the seat where it can't be seen like on the passenger seat !!

Trying to get my daughter to do the same now .. she doesn't always do it ..

Yeah, why give the thief a car with a full tank of gas to get away with.

I saw the story on the local news channel. The woman had a 2 year old and a 4 year old in the car. She was outside the car. The gun was in an unlocked glove compartment. I’m glad she stopped the carjacking but I’m thinking what else could have gone wrong here?

The kids have already learned not to mess with mom or her gun!

My oldest had learned the house rules on gun safety at age 5, (my bad for starting so late!) the younger three all learned by age 2 or 3!

I always like it when the victim selection process fails. Might be easier to get a job than shot in the face? Just a thought.

My kids by the time the could talk and understand knew if they saw a gun they were to come tell me ..

We were walking in the mail and saw a security cop and my son embarrassed me by yelling "Daddy that man has a gun " at the top of his lungs as he was taught .. he was just over 2 .. the cop just smiled and came over to talk .. we explain that he was to help us and that was why he had a gun ..

So in the car like that they would never had touched it and the older one wouldn't have let the younger one either if they were mine ..

My thought too. There have been cases of such here in which a kid did grab a gun left that way and killed a sibling. I have pretty strong and negative views of that.
