I recently picked up this 2” K-frame HH Heiser shoulder holster, and I’d like to learn a bit more about its history. As evidenced by the Heiser thread (which I didn’t want to clutter with my question) we have some experts here.

I’m a fan of 2” revolvers from the 1950s, so it would be nice if it is from that era, but any background information would be greatly appreciated.

Snaps and on older examples rivets are the most reliable means of dating Heiser holsters but offer no help on yours. The model 125 shoulder holster was in their line for decades-it was cataloged in the 1920’s up into the 1950’s. I'm away from my library but check the Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson on the 2” M&P, there may be some information that will narrow it down some ( I don't know when the 2” barrel was first offered on it ).
I can't remember the last time Lee was wrong so that's a good guess on his part.
Regards,

Regards,

Having spent way too much time gathering information on early 2” M&Ps, that is a question I can answer. The first 2” M&Ps shipped in late 1933. This option first appeared on price lists in 1935 or 1936 (I’d have to dig out my notes).

Thanks for the assist!
