heizer firearms?

Looks like it might have possibilities,I would like to handle one, but my Bond arms is hard to beat.i think it would be a great off-side backup or deep concealment arm.Quite frankly though I think it could be the "Glock" of the derringer world(not a bad thing) just no "style" to it.id still like to try one and if I liked it I would use it with one of my Glocks. I really like the ammo in the handle feature.

the width is what really suprised me, .665? just over 5/8 of an inch:eek:
i hope i get a chance to look one over, it really could make for an easily carried BUG

Looks like that 3 inch barrel is ported almost half of its length; wonder what the velocity is? Possibly you could throw a rock faster than those 45 slugs come out of that barrel.

It would be hard to beat for a deep concealment gun, but I'm not a fan of porting on any defensive firearm. (Porting is optional.) If you have to shoot it at less than arms' reach, and it's at an angle, you risk blinding yourself with it. Aside from that, I like it!

But yeah, it's kinda pricey. Such is the downside of a fully-machined, state-of-the-art mechanism.

It looks like the inspiration for the Heizer (or some parts of it, anyway) came from the Liberator pistol of World War II. Interesting concept, but...

* Like Cyrano, I wonder how much velocity you can expect from something like this.

* And given the small size and light weight of this piece, I wonder about the recoil...I would think it's gonna really hurt to touch one (or two!) off with the Heizer.

My 2 cents

I carry a NAA Pug its a 22mag. and drops right into the pocket.
As all of us hope, I plan on never using it unless the highly vocal conversation becomes a contact sport, where I'll go into my pocket, retrive my Pug and put a couple of 22mags in the person knee cap. Then I'll stand back and smile awhile and then call 911 and tell them some guy is having trouble standing up.

Just my thoughts.

I had a Semmerling LM4 (45acp) for a while.
It came to me in a trade.

This Heizer is about the same size but a whole lot lighter & thinner.
The Semmerling was 4+1 and manual slide (forward) operation w/a DA trigger (striker fired) pull.

The LM4 was a handful to shoot dispite it's weight compared to this one. Just not alot to hang on to.
The Heizer, especially in titanium must be quite a treat to shoot.
But with it's light weight, you could probably carry it in your sock unlike the LM4.

Look closely at the photos, especially the address on the left side of the gun. Not so sure about a company that feels compelled to include "Earth" after the city and state...!!!

Sorry for digging out this older thread (didn't want to start a new one), but in the current issue of Guns&Ammo is a shooting test with this DoubleTap.

You bet.

It's pricey and I don't think they will ever become collectable, but it sure is a good option as BUG for the BUG...

This is because Heizer does also Aerospace Engeneering. I think it's a funny fact...

Current G&A magazine chrono'd Hornady 9 m/m Critical Defense ammo at 1,042 fps and 185 gr XTP .45 at 867 fps. I believe this was the non-ported barrel.
