Hey all. Flyboy here. Found this great site yesterday while looking up things on my new s&w purchase. Had a great deal from a buddy of mine. He had a 90's sw40v. He said the firing pin would not release some times. Having worked on these weapons before, I was hoping I knew what the issue is. I purchased it, with 3 10rd mags, a Blackhawk serpa, and 20 rounds of hydroshock for 230.00 dollars. It was a risk but when I opened her up I realised that he apparently did field strips but never nitty gritty cleaned it. The trigger and firing pin in the slide where gummed with powder and oil. He over oiled it IMHO. I got her all cleaned out, tested, and took it to the range. It's like a brand new gun. It's stainless with the smooth grip. Wonderful weapon, so good in fact that it is my edc. I was glad to add this to my other s&w .38 spcl 4 inch 15.
