Hello from snowy Kentucky

I purchased a new sigma SW9VE this past Saturday. It's my first hand gun purchase in almost 30 years and I am very anxious to try it out but the weather has been so bad I have not shot it yet. Anything I need to know about the gun before I take it out to the range?

I finally got out to shoot a 15 round clip this afternoon just before dark and was very pleased with myself. It has been almost 30 years since I shot a hand gun and I put 14 of the 15 rounds in an eight inch grouping at 7 yards and the first time I have shot this gun.
