Hi,
I was actually a member before the site changed around a year ago but I had trouble getting back on and recently re-joined as mikeruns. My old sign was runninmike.
I've always like to read the stories about grail finds and similar posts on this forum. Very interesting to me. I have a few S&W revolvers and at least a couple S&W semi-autos too. Some of S&W is in my blood and I've been to one of the S&W armorer's course @ Springfield for pistols with a team of Marine Corps armorers in 1991 or '92 and really enjoyed the class and the tour they took us on at the end of the week. We each built 10 model 1006's that week that were going to Quantico @ the academy which was literally next door to our range @ Weapons Training Battalion, Quantico, Va. Was really surreal to be blessed with the opportunity to actually go to the plant after reading all the stories in various shooting mags while I was growing up in Mt about Elmer Keith and Ed McGivern, and then meeting some of the awesome competitive shooters and some other interesting characters as well who used S&W revolvers in their lives. I don't interact with competitive shooting or gunsmithing world anymore as I fell into another line of work and time has changed things for me, but I am able to still enjoy some conversation and read about other folk's experiences and see some awesome guns through this forum.
Best, Mike
