Just thought I would look for a solution to a problem with my model 66 and found this site. I live just west of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The cities name is Mississauga.

Been in the armored car industry since 1991 and have carried a model 10 until just recently when we transitioned over to Semi's. The pick for the new issue sidearm is the M&P .40.

I am a certified S&W firearms instructor and recent M&P armorer grad. I started shooting the M&P series in 2006 and liked it so much I bought the family. I have mid's in .45, .40 and 9mm.

Thanks again for the welcomes. For the record, I am a resevervist with the Canadian army not the US Army. I see the US Army logo beside my name and wanted to clarify.

Welcome from Texas MLRS. Great forum for all things S&W, have fun, learn lots, share what you know.

Always nice to have a new member of the S&W family check in from up North.

Big fan of the S&W M&P 45 ACP as it is my duty sidearm.

I love my .45 M&P! getting expensive to feed it though. The 9mm and .40 get more action.

Most of the armored car companies have flipped to the M&P .40 here in Ontario. If I had the choice I would be carring the .45. No CCW up here either, it is allowed by law but the politicians regulate the heck out of it to the point only 13 (number from a FOI request by Canada Carry) people have permits here in Ontario. So it is pretty well out of reach for the average Joe.

Welcome from Illinois! I was born in Hamilton and also lived in Toronto and Hanover.

Toronto used to be a fun place, love Ivor Winn Stadium (great atmosphere) and my sister in law is from Hanover.

Its like we're family... the brother in arms, er, with arms, well you get my point.

Shoot, we could be relatives, Hanover is a pretty small town.

A 20-year-old Midland, Ont. woman is dead and her apparent ex-boyfriend airlifted to Toronto with life-threatening injuries after an alleged domestic dispute.

Police in Midland, roughly a two-hour drive from Toronto, said this will be a "rude awakening" for residents in a quiet cottage country town near Georgian Bay.

They are investigating the incident as an attempted murder-suicide.

"A murder-suicide aside, there hasn't even been a murder during the 10 years I have worked here," Midland Police Const. Dave Young said.

He said police and ambulance were called to a residence on Irwin St. around 2:25 p.m. on Sunday, where they found a woman shot in the head.

She was rushed to Georgian Bay General Hospital, but was pronounced dead.

Just 10 minutes after they got to the Irwin St. residence, Young said a witness called the police reporting a shot had been fired.

Police rushed to the minivan parked 1.5 km away.

"There was shattered glass from the side window and a 20-year-old man inside with what looks like a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his head," Young said.

The man from nearby Penetanguishene, Ont. was airlifted with life-threatening injuries to Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto.

He said Midland police are waiting at Sunnybrook for an update on his condition.

"If he survives, charges would be pending."

Police say the dead woman and the injured man appeared to have been a couple at one time.

"We don't believe they lived together, but it looks like they were dating," Young said.
