Recently on a camping trip I was switching my slide fire from my 15-22 to my AR. I completely spaced the second spring and retaining pin on the 15-22 (you know the one that keeps the rear take down pin in place so it doesn't just slide out) . Luckily I found them on the hood of my truck and placed them in a baggie for safe keeping. Unfortunately when I got home and was cleaning and reconfiguring my gun, I tried to to put the pin back in. In my stupidity (I'm gunna blame the two beers here) it wouldn't fit so I pressed hard on it thinkin it was just caught on something and managed to wedge it in there. The only way for me to get it out was to place a small rod in there and bang it out. Now the nice round tip has a crater in it and even if it did fit I doubt it would retain well. Do any of you by chance know what this pin is called or better yet have a part # or somewhere I can order one from? Or am I just going to call smith and wesson and pray they will sell me one? I really dont want tape on my gun holding my take down pin in! Lesson learned

Awesome thank you! So any AR detent pin will fit the 15-22?

FYI -- another option is to go to the Brownell's website, look at the 15-22 schematic and parts listing, and order the exact part from them. Just sayin'........;)

No 15-22 schematic or specific parts on the Brownells website, except the mags. Of course regular AR parts not related to the action itself can be found.

OOPS! My bad! I've had such good luck with their handgun schematics that I mistakenly assumed (without first looking) that they had the 15-22 also! :(

My apologies.......:o
