Help Identify HE

[Gun Relics]

I'm a little stumped on this one. The local gun shop took it in and asked me to help. It appears to be a nickel plated HE .38 special cartridge, serial number 155292, pearl grips. It's a 4 screw gun. Upon close inspection the numbers match. It's functional but the finish is in rough shape.

Any help with a definitive model and suggested value would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

It’s a .38 Hand Ejector most commonly known as the Military and Police model, and it’s a 5 screw.

$400 is on the high side. In my opinion. I'd like $300 better. Honestly, I wouldn't buy it at any price.

I hear you on that - it's too rough for me as well. . Do you think the gun is original, grips etc? I have no experience with the S and W pearl grips.

This revolver shipped from the factory with a nickel finish, which I THINK is original. The stocks are aftermarket. Looks like the sights have been altered as well. Close-up shots of both front and rear sights would help greatly.
