I'm starting to think what I want doesn't exist.

I'd love a set of rubber grips for my 686 exactly like Hogues but WITHOUT finger groves. I have big hands and use a high grip and the ridges just don't line up for me.

Any suggestions? Alternatively, has anyone ever taken a Dremel to a set of Hogues to get rid of the ridges? How did that work out?

suggestion - hogue makes them in hard nylon, i would use those if you are going to grind on any, you can polish them up with fine paper when done shaping.

Have you tried a pair of Pachmyer Presentation grips?

I've tried grinding off the finger grooves on the Monogrips and find that you run into a hard white (delrin/nylon) plastic "inner chassis" before you can get the finger grooves all the way flush with the line of the grips. A black Marks-a-lot can help fix this a bit, but it still looks a bit odd.
