I ordered a new hammer assy. for a model 37, and it came with a different sear?
I called S&W, and the guy there, said the sears are hand fit...... Well... There is no way to hand fit something that is smaller than the original.
Please help me identify these to sears. The 37-2 one is on the left... what is on the right?
Thanks in advance!

Is your old sear not usable? If it is, just take it out of the old hammer and put it in the new one. If not, you'll need to fit the new one. Most, if not all the stoning will need to be done on the stop surface, at the back of the top of the sear, until you get sufficient clearance of the engagement surface on the toe of the sear.

Like I said, I would need to add metal to the top of the new sear.(Which is impossible)
The old one is useable , but I wanted to be able to switch between, a full hammer and a bobbed on my 37-2, with just dropping it in. I really dont feel like switching the sear every time.
Also I paid for a complete hammer assy. and thats what I want.
I e-mailed S&W today with this picture, and they said they will send out the proper sear.
I will update when it arrives.

Sorry I was not any help, but I'm glad you got what you wanted from Smith. BTW, why do you want to switch back and forth between spurred and bobbed hammers?

It depends on the mood I am in.
