Hello I broke my firing pin on my .32 HE today and need some help.
I can't get the old one off,
I'm having trouble sourcing a new one.
Is there any compatibility with other models? Any tips for removal would be appreciated.IMG_20250819_210318657_HDR.webp

Try Jack First for a new one. Getting the old one out isn't that hard. A little penetrating oil, a bench block, and a punch of the correct size. You may want to buy a couple of new rivets too assuming you can get them. They might be a bit brittle. You will also need a punch with a significant taper to set the rivets. Medium weight hammer or mallet. Don't try to do it with the hammer still on the gun. Too much chance of doing bad things.

I always drill out the hollow rivet. Start with the smallest drill bit that will just barely cut into the rivet and gradually move up in size until you can pick out the pieces.

I flare the rivet using a steel center punch on an anvil or other hard, flat surface. The anvil on the back of a bench vise is ideal. Flare a little bit on one side, flip it over and flare the other side until it is set.

As both eluded to, you must first remove the hammer from the gun. Have the right size punch. Use Kroil penetrate to loosen up the pin, let soak for a few hours or overnight. Put the hammer on a bench block, (steel preferred), to drive out the pin, or an anvil with a hole to put the pin location over. If you do not feel competent to open the gun up and remove the hammer, it would be best to take the gun to a gunsmith.
